The Shinnecock Indian Nation plans to open a casino on their Long Island reservation. That comes from a warning sent to the media this week.
According to the Indian nation, the tribe is expected to announce a partnership with Tri-State Partners on Wednesday February 17th to open a casino on their 800 acre reservation in Southampton.
Jack Morris, the director of Tri-State Partners, has previously worked on casino projects with other Native American tribes, including the Seminole Tribe of Florida, owner of the Hard Rock hotel and casino chain.
The casino would be the second in Suffolk County and would join the video lottery system at the Jakes 58 Hotel and Casino in Islandia, which opened a few years ago.
Specific details of the proposal have not been released, although a Zoom presentation is scheduled for Wednesday at 11 a.m.
