NAKHON SAWAN: The police rounded up 31 players in a raid on a townhouse in the Muang district of this upper central province on Saturday evening, the police said.
The 11 p.m. raid of the town house of the Californian Ville Housing Estate in the village of Moo 9 in Tambon Wat Sai was carried out on a tip from local residents.
Thirty-one gamblers – ten men and 21 women – and Arthit Imkham, an alleged gambling banker, were arrested. Playground equipment and a lot of cash were confiscated.
The 31 included a person identified only as "Hia Chong" who was believed to be the operator of arcades in Nakhon Sawan.
They had taken their temperatures and would be tested for Covid-19 by health officials on Sunday before being handed over to Muang police for further legal proceedings.
